Registration Information
Enrollment at ARB is continuous and ongoing throughout the year. We always welcome new students!
All new Intermediate and Advanced Students are required to attend a free of charge evaluation/placement class prior to registration.
Suggested Enrollment per Level
PreBallet-Ballet II 1-2 ballet classes per week
Ballet III 2-3 ballet classes per week with additional classes in jazz, modern recommended
Ballet IV 2-3 ballet classes per week with additional classes in modern, jazz, PBT, character recommended
Ballet V 2-3 ballet classes per week with additional classes in modern, jazz, PBT, character recommended
Ballet VI 3-5 ballet classes per week with additional classes in modern, jazz, PBT, character recommended
Ballet VII & VIII 4-6 ballet classes per week with additional classes in modern, jazz, PBT, character recommended
*These are minimum suggested classes per week in order to maintain strength and technique.
*Rehearsals for "The Nutcracker", YAGP (by invitation only), and NYVB's Spring Production take place outside of class time.
Uniform Information
Leotards - ARB Uniforms are available for purchase through ARB office
Tights: Bloch Endura in Pink (NOT Ballet Pink) and/or Capezio Hold and Stretch in Pink
Ballet Flat Shoes:
Pink Canvas, Split Soles (ex: So Danca, Sansha, Grishko, etc.) for all ages and levels
Pointe Shoes:
Brand and style of dancer's personal choice. We recommend fittings through Liesl Dancewear in Woodbridge.
Tap Class:
Tap shoes Level 1-5: Capezio style number 3800c (child) or 3800 (adult) Mary Jane in black leather
Tap shoes Level 6-8: Capezio style number 561 or similar in tan (either 1.5 in. or 2in. heel) should be like their character shoes
Character Class:
Black Character shoes with a 1.5" to 2" heel. (Will be used in Jazz class as well)
Black Character skirt - Length to halfway down their shin.
Jazz:
Black slip on Jazz shoe with no laces
Black bike shorts or black jazz pants
Modern:
Students will be barefoot for class.
Black bike shorts.
